3. The Project

Meanwhile in Delhi,

A man hurriedly spoke to another, his voice laced with urgency. "Boss, I ran away from there last night. No one saw me. Everyone was sleeping, and even the guards didn't notice."

Hearing this, the other man's face darkened with anger. "Khanna, you idiot! You really think escaping from there was that easy? This has to be a trap to catch us. You're done for. I'm leaving." He turned to leave with his guards, but before he could take another step, the sharp sound of gunfire echoed from outside.

Startled, the man rushed to the window and peered out. His heart pounded as he watched a group of armed individuals storming in, their guns blazing. One by one, his guards collapsed to the ground. Within moments, the gunfire ceased, leaving only silence.

Then, a female voice rang out, calm yet chilling.- "Hello, Mr. Kashyap. It's nice to meet you again. But sadly, this will be the last time. You won't live to see the sunrise tomorrow."

She signaled her guards to fire. The bullets were aimed at Mr. Kashyap, but at the last moment, he grabbed Khanna and pulled him in front of himself. The bullets pierced Khanna's body instead, making him gasp in pain before collapsing lifelessly to the floor.

The mysterious girl, whose face remained hidden, stepped closer, her tone laced with quiet amusement. "See? You were loyal to a man who just used you as a shield. If you had given us the name earlier, maybe you'd still be alive." Khanna's lifeless body lay still, his wide eyes frozen in disbelief.

Kashyap, still breathing heavily, looked at the girl with gritted teeth. "I asked you nicely to give me that project, but you refused."

The girl chuckled softly, tilting her head. "And I said 'no' politely as well. But your ego couldn't handle rejection. So, you decided to betray me. And you know very wellโ€”I don't tolerate betrayal." Without another word, she raised her gun and emptied the magazine into Kashyap. He fell to the floor, groaning in pain but still clinging to life.

With labored breaths, he looked up at her as she approached. "Who... who are you?" he gasped. "Why don't you want to hand over that project? Yes, we've done bad things for selfish reasons, butโ€”"

His words died in his throat when the girl removed her glasses. Her red, bloodshot eyes met his, sending a shiver down his spine โ€”"To you, it may be just a project," she said coldly, "but to me, it's about the people who are still wandering like lost souls, waiting for justice."

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Kashyap gasping for his final breath.

Meanwhile in Bangalore,

It was 5 AM at Bangalore Airport. Despite the late hour, a few travelers moved about, some waiting for their flights, others arriving.

Among them was a young woman, dressed in expensive, professional clothing. A mask and sunglasses concealed her face. She walked briskly, her head lowered, as if trying to avoid attention. Just then, she collided with a man โ€” Rihan.

Dressed in black pants, a crisp white shirt, and a sleek black overcoat, he exuded an air of dominance. His black sunglasses concealed his sharp gaze as he spoke into his phone.

Annoyed by the sudden collision, he snapped, "Can't you watch where you're going?"

The woman, unfazed, responded in a firm yet indifferent voice, โ€”"Sorry."

That single word made Rihan pause. He turned to glance at her retreating figure. He could only see her from behind, but something about her voice, the way she carried herselfโ€”it unsettled him.

Perhaps it was because no one had ever dared to speak to him that way before. His guards instinctively stepped forward, ready to stop her, but she kept walking without looking back.

Rihan stood still, watching her until she disappeared from sight. After a long moment, he shook his head and continued into the airport.

Outside the Airport,

The woman approached a sleek black car where a man was waiting. "Any updates?" she asked, her voice steady.

"Yes, boss," the man replied. "They're here. They've started looking for you." Hearing this, a slow smile spread across her lips.

"Good," she murmured. "Accha hai โ€” Shikar khud shikari ke pas a raha hai To ham kya kare? Jab voh khud apni maut chahte hain, to ane do unhe, ek bar a gaye to vo kabhi vapas nahi ja payenge."

(The prey is walking straight into the hunter's trap. Let them come. Once they're here, they won't ever be able to leave.)

She paused before asking, "Anything else?"

The man hesitated before answering, "Yes, boss. They've also found out about... this."

For a fleeting moment, something dark flickered in her expression. Then, as if dismissing the thought, she simply said, "Okay."

And with that, she stepped into the car and disappeared into the night.

Next Day,

There was a large mansionโ€”beautiful in appearance, yet eerie with its dark color and the presence of guards stationed all around. Inside, the atmosphere was tense. Rihan sat on a sofa, exuding a devilish aura, his anger evident.

Just then, his right-hand man, Rony, entered and handed him a file. "Sir, we got the information you asked for."

Rihan sensed that Rony had more to say and gestured for him to continue. Rony hesitated before adding, "Sir, the person you wanted us to find and bring here... he's dead."

Rihan looked at him in surprise. Rony continued, "He died just yesterday, and the news has spread. Everyone is terrified and believes you were the one who killed him."

Rihan's expression darkened. "If I didn't kill him, then did Kiyan do it?" At that moment, a man dressed in black entered the hall. Rihan turned to him. "Kiyan, did you kill him..?"

Kiyan shook his head. "No, I didn't. I was just investigating, as you asked. When I arrived at his location, I found out that someone else had already killed himโ€”torturing him to death."

Rihan leaned back, deep in thought. "Who could have done this..? Who discovered his dark deeds as we did and decided to punish him?"

Kiyan smirked slightly. "We only wanted to teach him a lesson, but someone decided to finish him off in one go. Well, whoever did it saved us the trouble. Whoever they are, they must hate lies just as much as we do."

Rihan remained silent, lost in his thoughts. "Who is this person?"

When Vritika arrived home, she saw Tanisha ready to leave, her bike keys in hand. Whenever the three girls went out, Vritika always preferred dark-colored clothes, while Tanisha and Jenny, though avoiding dark shades, often wore similar designs. This sometimes made it difficult to distinguish between them.

As Tanisha was about to leave and Vritika was stepping inside, Tanisha checked the timeโ€”it was 7 AM. She turned to Vritika. "Did he tell you?"

Vritika understood what she meant and replied, "Yes. If they're in such a hurry to leave, then let's send them off. After all, you can't stop someone who has already made up their mind to go." She gave Tanisha a mischievous smile. Tanisha smirked in response before heading out, while Vritika went inside.

A Little Later...

Tanisha was mercilessly beating up a group of boys. A frightened girl stood nearby, watching as Tanisha delivered punch after punch. Her eyes darted between Tanisha and the group of boys, clearly terrified.

Meanwhile, several cars were passing by on the road. Inside one of the middle cars, a man was working on his laptop. Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of Tanisha's actions. To say she was beating them up wouldn't be accurateโ€” " Wo dhobi ghat ke kutto ki tarah unhe dho rahi thi, bina sabun or pani ke ."

(She was thrashing them like a washerman's dog, without any soap or water.)

Intrigued, the man signaled his driver to stop. The car came to a halt, followed by the other vehicles. He watched Tanisha closely, unblinking. Though he couldn't see her face clearly, he stared at her as if she were a treasure, though his gaze remained coldโ€”devoid of emotion.

Tanisha continued thrashing the boys in silence. After a while, she finally stopped and spoke, her voice sharp with authority. "If you ever harass a girl again, I'll kill you. Now apologize to her and get lost."

Her eyes burned with rage. The boys, trembling at her fury, quickly apologized and fled. The girl, still shaken, thanked Tanisha before leaving. Tanisha then glanced at her injured hand and jogged away.

Inside the car, the man watched her retreating figure before ordering his driver to start the car again. Without a word, the convoy of vehicles resumed its journey.
